D.C. Madam turns to eBay

WASHINGTON, May 4 (UPI) -- The latest marketing scheme of Washington, D.C., madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey involves the auction of exclusive interviews on eBay.

Palfrey, who ran an escort service in the nation's capital, is planning to auction five, one-hour interviews at a starting bid of $5,000 each, The Washington Post reports.

No names of clients are revealed in the interviews Palfrey recorded last month with an Internet-radio host.

However, she hopes someone will be interested in her ordeal as the object of a federal racketeering and prostitution probe resulting from her escort service.

The auction will follow the airing of a segment about Palfrey and her phone records on ABC's "20/20" show Friday night.

Thursday, a top Washington law firm placed one of its legal secretaries on administrative leave after she told her employers that she moonlighted for Palfrey's escort service, ABC's Web site reports.

Last week a deputy secretary of state resigned the day after reporters called to ask him about being a customer of Palfrey's service.
