Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor

BRASILIA, Brazil, May 4 (UPI) -- Brazil announced Friday the country would break the patent on an AIDS drug produced by Merck & Co. Inc., Globo TV reported.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's office issued a statement saying Brazil would produce a cheaper generic version of the drug produced in India.
South America's largest country was seeking a significant discount on the drug Efavirenz for its state-sponsored anti-AIDS drug program, considered by many to be the best in the world.
