DAMASCUS, Syria, April 30 (UPI) -- Hamas will keep kidnapping Israeli soldiers until all Palestinian prisoners are released from Israeli jails, a Hamas leader said Monday.
Khaled Mashaal, an exiled Hamas politburo chief, spoke Monday at a rally for Palestinian prisoners in a Syrian refugee camp, reported the Israeli news agency Ynetnews.
"We have every capability to do again what we have done before," Mashaal said, adding that kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit will not be released until Israel yields to Palestinian demands.
Shalit was captured June 25, 2006. While two other Israeli solders were kidnapped by Hezbollah forces after that, there haven't been reports that Hamas has taken other Israeli military personnel.
Mashaal reiterated Hamas' list of demands for Shalit's release, including the names of the prisoners they want freed, the Ynetnews report said. On the list is Palestinian Legislative Council Speaker Aziz Dwaik.
