BUENOS AIRES, April 27 (UPI) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived in Argentina for a short visit to talk energy and economics with his counterpart, Nestor Kirchner.

The leaders met Friday, La Nacion newspaper reported online, and were expected to discuss issues such as the production and use of biofuel in the region.

Brazil, a world leader in the production of ethanol, had recently signed an agreement with the United States to expand its production to other parts of the region.
