Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
SEOUL, April 18 (UPI) -- South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun issued a second message of condolence to the United States on Wednesday for the massacre at Virginia Tech.
Roh sent a telegram to U.S. President George Bush through the South Korean Embassy in Washington about the deaths of 32 people and the South Korean gunman, Cho Seung-hui, on Monday, the Yonhap news agency reported.
"I was gravely shocked and horrified to learn of the tragic incident that took the lives of many innocent people at the Virginia Tech University and I sincerely share the deep sense of grief and profound sorrow with you and your people," Roh wrote.
Earlier, Roh made a public statement at his Seoul office.
"I want to deliver my sincere words of consolation to the families of the killed and injured and all U.S. people. I wish U.S. society will quickly overcome its sorrow and regain calmness," he said.
Cho arrived in the United States at the age of 8 in 1992 and was a legal U.S. resident.
