WASHINGTON, April 13 (UPI) -- A woman accused of running a high-end Washington prostitution ring named a former U.S. Navy commander as a customer in court documents.
CNN reported that military strategist Harlan K. Ullman "bristled" upon hearing he'd been named as a client of Pamela Martin and Associates, a business run by Deborah Jean Palfrey.
"The allegations do not dignify a response," Ullman told CNN. "I'm a private, not a public, citizen. Any further questions are referred to my attorneys."
Prosecutors allege the business is a high-end prostitution ring that has operated in Washington for 13 years.
Palfrey named Ullman as "one of the regular customers" of her business in court papers concerning replacing her public defender with a private attorney.
Palfrey's lawyer, Montgomery Blair Sibley, told CNN he understood Ullman used Palfrey's business, but did not engage in sexual activity with the escorts.
Palfrey has been charged with racketeering and money laundering. Her lawyers have been fighting prosecutors over documents that name her clients.
Ullmann's Web site describes him as "a highly respected and widely recognized expert in national security whose advice is sought by governments and businesses," CNN reported.
