Bosnia court jails 2 Croats for war crimes

MOSTAR, Bosnia-Herzegovina, April 12 (UPI) -- A Bosnia-Herzegovina court ordered two Croat soldiers each jailed for 3 1/2 years for war crimes against Bosnian Muslim civilians in 1993, media said.

The district court in Mostar sentenced the two former Bosnian Croat guards in the Heliodrom camp for continuous beating, torturing and death threats of civilian prisoners, the Croatian Internet Web site Index.hr said Thursday.

The two men allegedly forced a Bosnian Muslim prisoner to use his tongue to clean the boots of Bosnian Croat soldiers.

The court said the sentences were not more harsh because the two Croats had not caused any deaths.
