LOS ANGELES, March 28 (UPI) -- The customs area at the Tom Bradley International Terminal of Los Angeles International Airport was shut down due to flooding.

The area was flooded when construction workers accidentally cut though a 10-inch water main at a baggage facility near the international terminal, The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

The water leak caused up to 3 inches of water to flood some sections of the customs area and forced airport officials to send 51 international flights to other terminals for customs checks.

Airport officials said they hope to have part of the flooded building reopened Wednesday.
