ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, March 27 (UPI) -- Four Pakistani intelligence officials were killed Tuesday in an ambush on the Afghanistan border that left two others critically wounded.
The BBC reported that no group has taken credit for the attack in Pakistan's tribal region. The ambush on members of the secretive ISI intelligence agency occurred one day after local tribes signed an agreement with the government agreeing not to shelter members of al-Qaida or the Taliban.
Inter-Services Intelligence Assistant Director Mohammad Sadiq, also known as Major Hamza, was among those killed, the BBC reported. The attackers used guns and grenades, authorities said.
The attack happened near where suspected al-Qaida leader Abu Marwan was killed last year, the BBC reported.
