BUDAPEST, Hungary, March 27 (UPI) -- A Budapest court Tuesday found a 28-year-old Hungarian woman guilty of displaying Nazi symbols in public and fined her $800.
A judge of the Pest county court said his ruling took into account the fact Diana Bacsfi expressed remorse for her pro-Nazi activities, including damaging public statues, the Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
Bacsfi, former leader of a Hungarian group that organized Nazi commemorations and publicized pro-Nazi stands in 2004, may replace her fine with a term of 150 days in jail.
She was known widely for often using the Nazi salute, MTI said.
One of Bacsfi's accomplices was sentenced to 30 days of community work and three workers of a printing shop that produced posters with Nazi swastikas were given cautions.
Hungarian law bans using and displaying totalitarian symbols.
