Russian caving enthusiasts trapped

MOSCOW, March 24 (UPI) -- A cave-in at an abandoned quarry in Russia may have left up to 100 amateur speleologists trapped, authorities said Saturday.

A police source said the cave-in had blocked the only exit from the quarry, located in the Moscow region, Novosti said.

The report of the collapse near the village of Starostyanovo, located about 18.5 miles south of Moscow, came about 3 p.m. local time, the police source said.
