GUATAMALA CITY, Guatemala, March 20 (UPI) -- Guatemalan authorities have arrested four people suspected of ordering the killings of three lawmakers from El Salvador that were visiting Guatemala.

Alleged drug cartel leaders are said to be behind the deaths of Eduardo D'Aubuisson, William Pichinte, Jose Ramon Gonzalez and their driver last month, Prensa Libre reported Tuesday.

Originally, four police officers were arrested for the killings, though were soon killed in prison.

D'Aubuisson was the son of the late founder of El Salvador's ruling Arena Party, Roberto D'Aubuisson.
