Stolen reptiles found in car

FRANKSTON, Australia, March 19 (UPI) -- Australian police have returned a stolen freshwater crocodile to its home after it was found in a car of a man who suffered a suspected epileptic fit.

Police said the crocodile and some of the 40 other lizards stolen from the Wildlife Wonderland Park in Bass, Australia, were found in a car after the driver was found slumped over the wheel, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday.

Damien Tilley, co-owner of the park, said eight blue-tongued lizards, two bearded dragons and two pink-tongued skinks remain missing from the Sunday robbery.

"The crocodile is actually now back in his enclosure, with his pen mate, he's warmed himself up lovely and he actually had a nice mouse for lunch this afternoon so he seems to have settled in all right," he told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

Sgt. Darren Hedge of the Frankston Police said the driver of the vehicle was found "in a disoriented state" and taken to a hospital, where it was concluded that he was not bitten by any of the animals, The Age reported.

"Ambulance officers believed he might have suffered an epileptic fit or something," he said.
