Bush: Iraq 'success will take months'

WASHINGTON, March 19 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush marked the fourth anniversary of the start of the Iraq war, saying further progress is impossible until Iraqis feel secure.

"Four years ago today coalition forces launched operation Iraqi Freedom to remove Saddam Hussein from power," Bush said Monday in a White House broadcast.

"Today the world is rid of Saddam Hussein and a tyrant has been held to account."

Bush said, however, though Iraq has made great strides since the invasion, further success will be impossible "until Iraqis feel secure in their homes."

"Success will take months, not days or weeks," Bush warned.
