Probation for N.C. 'dungeon' castrators

WAYNESVILLE, N.C., March 17 (UPI) -- A North Carolina judge has sentenced three defendants to probation for castrating six other men in a sadomasochistic "dungeon."

Superior Court Judge Dennis Winner said in Waynesville this week that although there did not appear to be any genuine victims in the case, "I think this is a type of perversion that cannot be tolerated by society."

The trio pleaded guilty to charges of felony castration and maiming without malice in exchange for the dismissal of charges of practicing medicine without a license, according to the Ashville (N.C.) Citizen-Times.

The newspaper said the six castrated men all testified at the hearing that they saw no need for criminal charges to be filed.
