LIVERPOOL, England, March 16 (UPI) -- A 7-year-old boy stabbed a neighbor 21 times with a kitchen knife as she argued with his mother in the boy's home in Liverpool, England, a report says.
The Liverpool Echo says Sarah Corran, mother of a 2-year-old boy, received stab wounds in her back, legs, buttocks and arm. Another neighbor who was not involved in the incident says Corran and the boy's mother had "argued in the past," but they were thought to be friends.
The paper says when the two women began to fight, the boy grabbed a knife. Neighborhood residents reported hearing screams. One local man told the Echo he didn't know what caused the argument.
Corran's injuries are not life-threatening and she is recovering at a hospital.
Police officers talked to the boy, but because he is only 7, he is legally considered a minor. Authorities say the investigation will continue.
