Violence in the West Bank

March 10, 2007 at 10:15 AM   |   Comments

JENIN, West Bank, March 10 (UPI) -- Fatah gunmen opened fire on the car of a Hamas minister in a West Bank village near Jenin Saturday.

YNet News reported the gunmen from the Fatah military wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, prevented Minister for Prisoner Affairs Wasfi Kibah from entering the village.

Gunmen also fired on a Palestinian security headquarters building in Jenin, demanding overdue salaries, witnesses told YNet News.

Witnesses said the gunmen first handed out notices declaring the government offices closed, and government workers obeyed the notices and left the building.

Security officers inside the building did not fire shots as the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade members outside fired periodic rounds, YNet News reported.
