FORT WORTH, Texas, March 3 (UPI) -- Police have arrested a Watauga, Texas, 17-year-old after discovering a video that allegedly showed his two young nephews being taught how to smoke marijuana.
Fort Worth police are holding Demetris McCoy on suspicion of injury to a child, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
McCoy's two nephews, ages 2 and 5, were placed in the care of Child Protective Services shortly after the tape was seized on Feb. 22.
Police said they located the video on a camera while acting on a burglary warrant linked to a string of burglaries they suspect McCoy of being involved with.
A news release detailing the ongoing investigation said the video clearly shows the young children being taught how to use the drugs by an unidentified individual.
"The video contains disturbing images of the young children being badgered into smoking a marijuana cigar, commonly referred to as a 'blunt,'" the release said.
The paper said that the current charges against McCoy represent a third-degree felony and he is being held on $150,000 bail until trial.
