SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Salvadoran police are confounded by the murders of lawmakers who were found dead in a car in Guatemala, La Prensa Grafica reported Thursday.

The lawmakers' bodies, along with that of their driver, were found this week in their charred and bullet-ridden vehicle.

The three Salvadoran lawmakers -- Eduardo D'Aubuisson, William Pichinte and Jose Ramon Gonzalez -- were members of the Central American parliament.

D'Aubuisson was the son of the late founder of El Salvador's ruling Arena Party, Roberto D'Aubuisson.
