OCALA, Fla., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Florida's Marion County arrested three teens linked to the disappearance of 129 cattle and say they are expecting to make additional arrests.
The Ocala (Fla.) Star-Banner reported that Marion County police have charged two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old with participating in the theft of the cattle, valued at $110,000.
"We still have more arrests and more charges to make," sheriff's Detective Tim Ross said of the ongoing investigation.
Cattle were reported missing beginning last summer throughout Marion County. An anonymous tip led police to one of the 18-year-olds and the alleged cattle rustling ring began to unfold.
After the teen's arrest, two other alleged conspirators were taken into custody and charged with several crimes including dealing in stolen property.
The paper said that through their interviews with the suspects, officials learned that the ring had been operating in Florida since 2005.
