ETA leader won't end hunger strike

MADRID, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A Basque separatist leader says he will stay on a hunger strike, even though his prison sentence has been reduced, El Pais reported.

Ignacio de Juana Chaos, who has abstained from food for 100 days, said he will not eat until he receives an unconditional release.

Spain's highest court Monday reduced Juana Chaos' sentence to three years.

Juana Chaos has been in prison since 1987 for killing more than two dozen people in ETA attacks.

ETA is fighting for a separate homeland along the French-Spanish border, employing bombings and other attacks that have killed more than 850 people over three decades.
