Sperm donor begins meeting far-flung kids

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles man who was once a regular sperm donor has begun connecting with some of the untold number of children he fathered in the 1980s.

Jeffrey Harrison, 50, made the decision to look up the now young adult offspring when he saw a 2005 New York Times article about two sisters with the same biological father who had located one another on the Donor Sibling Registry Web site. They each said their father was anonymous donor Number 150 -- his old code.

Harrison has located six of his offspring, and been in contact with three so far, the most recently meeting Tuesday with a daughter in Los Angeles, the Times said.

Harrison's profile at California Cryobank in the 1980s made him one of the most requested donors, as it described him as 6-feet tall, blue-eyed with interests in philosophy, music and drama, he said.

He lives in a recreational vehicle with four dogs and said he makes a living doing odd jobs, the Times said.
