LONDON, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- A terminally ill 30-year-old woman in England is demanding the legal right to be overmedicated with morphine so that she can die and end her pain.

Kelly Taylor of Bristol has two painful and incurable conditions and told the Daily Mail doctors have told her she has less than a year to live.

Doctors have refused her request to give her enough morphine to cause unconsciousness, when her living will would kick in, banning any intravenous feeding.

Her lawyers said they filed papers to the High Court in London that under the European Convention on Human Rights which bans "inhuman or degrading treatment" to argue Taylor should not be refused steps which will end her life.

Taylor said she considered traveling to one of the various Swiss clinics that offer terminally ill patients the ability to commit assisted suicide but decided against it.

"Quite honestly I don't want to die in a foreign country -- I want to die at home," Taylor told the newspaper.
