Arab Israelis protest at Temple Mount

JERUSALEM, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Hundreds of Arab Israelis marched at the Mugrabi Gate at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem Thursday, protesting excavations taking place nearby.

The Israeli protesters say they expect they will see Sheikh Raad Salah at the gate even though there's a restraining order barring him from the Old City for 10 days, YNetNews reported.

"We oppose the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque," one protester told YNet. "It hurts Muslim pride, the world, and Israel. The works could cause the situation in the whole region to deteriorate and even intensify the intifada."
