JAKARTA, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Floods following two days of downpours in Indonesia have killed five people and forced 100,000 people to flee their homes.
Three of the deaths were in the capital city of Jakarta, while two were in Bekasi, officials told the Antara News Service.
While Indonesia experiences flooding annually, officials told the BBC that this year's flooding is the worst in five years. The BBC said the heavy rain may not let up for a week.
Flood victims were in need of food and clean water. Water service had been disrupted to flood-affected areas, the Jakarta Post reported.
