LONDON, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair's office announced Thursday that police interviewed him last week for a second time in the cash-for-honors investigation.
A spokesman said that detectives from Scotland Yard spent an hour with Blair on Friday, The Times of London reported. In a statement, Blair's office said that police had asked that the questioning not be made public earlier.
"That is a matter entirely for them," Blair's spokesman said, when asked if the prime minister expects another interview with detectives.
Two of Blair's closest associates, Michael Levy, his top fundraiser, and his aide, Ruth Turner, have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both were released on bail.
Blair was the first serving prime minister to go through a police interrogation when he was interviewed in December.
The investigation involves allegations that peerages and knighthoods were given to Labor Party donors, including some who made large secret loans.
