Canada body-parts murder victim identified
CARACAS, Venezuela, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A former political ally of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said the leftist leader's government has become more of a dictatorial regime.
Luis Miquilena criticized the Chavez for assuming too much control of the government, El Universal reported.
Earlier this month, Venezuelan lawmakers said they were in favor of granting Chavez more political powers to pass laws by decree.
Miquilena was Chavez's interior minister when Chavez first assumed office in 1998, and was a member of his administration until 2002.
