ST. LOUIS, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- A single $254 million jackpot winning Powerball ticket was sold in Missouri, the official multi-state lottery Web site said Thursday.
The winner overcame one-in-146 million odds to win the grand prize with a ticket consisting of the six numbers 9, 19, 29, 42 and 53, with the Powerball of 17.

"There was one winner in the state of Missouri for the last drawing's $254,000,000 grand prize!" the lottery said.
No other specifics were offered.
The jackpot, while a large amount, falls short of the all-time record payout for the game. On Feb. 18, 2006, eight workers at a ConAgra Foods plant in Lincoln, Neb., won a $365 million jackpot.
Powerball is played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
