Canada body-parts murder victim identified
RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Thursday the countries comprising the Mercosur trade bloc need to embrace greater integration.
Da Silva noted that the bloc -- comprised of member nations Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela -- would grow stronger if the countries were closer politically and socially.
The president's remarks came at the opening of the bloc's summit in Rio de Janeiro.
Chilean President Michelle Bachelet and other regional leaders will also attend meeting.
