Police escort Prince Harry from nightclub

LONDON, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- At least eight Metropolitan Police officers were diverted from their normal duties early Monday to oversee Prince Harry's exit from a London nightclub.

Harry and girlfriend Chelsy Davy left the Cuckoo Club in the West End amid a phalanx of photographers who were kept at arm's length by officers, The Daily Mail reports.

When two vanloads of police pulled up outside the club onlookers wondered whether a major crime or terror attack was under way.

Instead it was just the prince and Davy heading out the door to their waiting Range Rover.

Last week 10 police officers escorted Prince William's girlfriend, Kate Middleton, out of a South Kensington nightclub.
