Second guard held in Saddam hanging

BAGHDAD, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A second security guard has been detained in Baghdad for questioning about the video of the execution of Saddam Hussein, reports say.

The inquiry focuses on a grainy cell phone video of the hanging, an aide to the Iraqi prime minister told CNN Thursday.

The Shiite-led Iraqi government reportedly suspects the two guards, who work for a Sunni-led justice ministry, recorded the video which was seen widely on Internet sites and TV, the aide Sami al-Askari said.

Taunts from Shiites can be heard on the video moments before Saddam, a Sunni, is hanged. The images angered Iraqis, including moderate Sunnis, and fed Sunni fears that the Shiite-led government had carried out a sectarian lynching.
