Infant killed in drive-by shooting

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Police say an 8-month-baby boy was shot dead in a drive-by shooting outside a home in Riviera Beach, Fla.

Five other people were wounded in the attack Monday night, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Police say two men in an SUV pulled up to the house and fired at least 37 shots.

The infant, who was in a baby carrier in a car outside the home, was identified as Tavares Carter of Hobe Sound, Fla. The child's mother, 18-year-old Chandell Wiley, was also shot, the newspaper said.
