Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist

TOKYO, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's government is set to ask the public for opinions on his policy vision of "a beautiful country."
The Yomiuri Shimbun reported that "some observers" say there are still no "concrete images" of what the "beautiful country" concept is, despite the three months that have passed since Abe took office.
Abe is expected to announce the opinion projects at a press conference on Tuesday.
The Shimbun, citing a draft report, said that the projects include public polls of the country's traditions and cultural practices, as well as "a beautiful country contest" in which the public will be encouraged to submit essays, paintings and photos that describe Japan as "a beautiful country."
