Children's remains found near New Delhi

NEW DELHI, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Investigators in India say that a domestic servant may have killed many more than the six children he has admitted abusing and strangling.

At least 38 children have disappeared this year in Noida, an industrial suburb of New Delhi, the Press Trust of India reported. The skeletal remains of eight were found in the house where the alleged killer, Surender, worked.

Surender, also known by the name Satish, has reportedly confessed to killing six children and a 20-year-old woman. Police have also arrested his employer, Mohinder Singh Pandher, a factory owner and owner of the house where the skeletons were found in gunny sacks.

Police in the area worked to control angry crowds who attempted to storm the house as construction equipment was being used to dig up the ground around the dwelling, the BBC reported.

Several parents of missing children told the BBC that they are "fearing the worst" and that the police have done "nothing" after hearing reports of missing children in the past year.
