Mexico: Bus-train crash kills at least 24

MEXICO CITY, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- At least 24 people were killed and dozens more were injured Thursday when a bus and train collided in central Mexico, El Sol de Mexico newspaper reported.

Rescue officials said the death toll could climb higher from the Thursday morning accident, as some bodies were believed to be trapped in the wreckage of the bus.

Witnesses said the commuter bus was hit by the train and then dragged for more than 100 yards.

Authorities said the bus driver was arrested following the crash while trying to flee the scene.
