Wright, who was arrested Tuesday at his home, is to appear at Ipswich Crown Court Jan. 2.

"Of course, anybody accused of these sorts of offenses is going to experience trauma but he is bearing up well," Paul Osler, Wright's lawyer, told the BBC.

A second man arrested in connection with the killings has been released on bail.

Ipswich magistrates were told by prosecutors during a hearing Thursday that the killings took place between Oct. 29 and Dec. 13, Sky News reported. Police said Alderton died of strangulation and Clennell died after suffering severe "compression" to the neck. The causes of the other three deaths were not released by police.
