Girl bully gets 11 years in arson attack

MANCHESTER, England, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- A British school bully has been jailed for 11 years and her parents for life for a firebomb attack that killed her victim's mother and father.

Natalie Connor, 18, was sentenced for plotting with her parents, Jane and Michael Connor, to pour gasoline in the home of classmate Lucy Cochrane and set it ablaze, Sky News reported.

Lucy's parents, Alex and Maureen Cochrane, were killed in the inferno that engulfed their south Manchester home in January.

Firefighters pulled the severely injured Lucy, then 16, from the blaze.

Manchester Crown Court heard Natalie Connor had harbored a "trivial and nonsensical" hate obsession against Lucy.

"Nothing can begin to justify or explain the extreme lengths to which you, Michael, Jane and Natalie Connor, went on those days," Judge David Maddison said in sentencing them.

Jane Connor clapped her hand to her mouth as she heard her sentence.

Margaret Robinson, 66, Jane Connor's mother was jailed for 18 months for obstructing justice by lying to police after the arson attack.
