Four U.S. soldiers killed in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Two separate roadside bombings in Baghdad killed four U.S. soldiers and injured three others, the U.S. military said Monday.

The first incident happened during daylight just west of the city Sunday, when a bomb killed one soldier and wounded another, the statement said. The second happened during a late-night patrol in northern Baghdad, when a bomb killed three soldiers and injured two others.

The U.S. military death toll in Iraq now stands at 2,925.

Also Monday, Iraq's Interior Ministry announced 51 bullet-ridden bodies had been found scattered throughout Baghdad. The ministry said the slayings were part of the sectarian battle between Shiite and Sunni Muslims, CNN reported.
