TV tip nabs alleged Detroit hit man

DETROIT, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- A tip from the TV show "America's Most Wanted" led to the arrest of a Detroit fugitive who is a suspect in a 2003 drug-related shooting and in a 2004 killing.

Lamont Paris was picked up Thursday night in Belleville, Mich., and now faces multiple charges in the alleged attempted hit on rival gang leader Tommy Hodge and his girlfriend across the street from Detroit police headquarters, the Detroit Free Press said Saturday.

Paris was also a suspect in the 2004 slaying of Armond Hickman and another shooting outside a post office last year, the newspaper said.

Court documents identified Paris as an enforcer for the Quasand Lewis drug ring; both Lewis and Hodge were indicted on drug charges.

Paris' attorney said his client was innocent of all charges.
