Top Malaysia snake charmer killed by cobra

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The fourth time wasn't a charm for leading Malaysian snake charmer Ali Khan Samsuddin, who died after suffering cobra bite No. 4.

Ali Khan, 41, died Friday after being bitten earlier in the week by a huge king cobra during a show.

According to Indo-Asian News Service, Ali Khan charmed serpents for 25 years and was the patriarch of a family of charmers that includes his son, Amjad Khan.

Ali Khan entered Guinness World Record twice for time spent living with scores of cobras and living with 6,000 scorpions.

Ali Khan had survived three previous snake bites through timely medical treatment and a compound of his own recipe, the news agency said Saturday.
