LIVERPOOL, England, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Police in Liverpool, England, Monday investigated a suspected homicide-suicide at the city's World Museum.

The police were called to the scene Sunday after reports a man had stabbed a woman in the crowded museum and then plummeted 35 feet from an internal balcony, The Guardian reported Monday.

Police said the man and the woman, who are believed to have known each other, were taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.

A spokesman for the police said a weapon has been recovered they believe was used in the stabbing, and they are not ruling out suicide in the man's death.
