Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist
NEW DELHI, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- India Tuesday reportedly gave Pakistan what it says is evidence of Pakistan's links to terrorism, including the July 11 Mumbai train blasts.
The Press Trust of India, quoting sources, reported the evidence was given as the foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan resumed their talks in New Delhi after a 4-month lull.
The sources told PTI that India later asked Pakistan's cooperation in fighting terrorism.
"Considerable time was spent on terrorism in the context of Havana declaration," an Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman said. The Havana declaration refers to an agreement that Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reached earlier this year when the two attended the non-aligned nations' summit in Cuba.
After their first day of talks, the report said the two nuclear nations also were close to an agreement on nuclear risk reduction as part of non-conventional confidence-building measures.
The two sides, led by India's Shivshankar Menon and Pakistan's Riaz Mohammed Khan, also are expected to announce the formation of a joint anti-terror mechanism, the report said.
