WASHINGTON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- The U.S. Supreme Court refused Monday to review the case of Ethel Kennedy's nephew, who was convicted in 2002 of killing a neighbor years earlier.
Michael Skakel's lawyers argued that the prosecution violated Connecticut's 5-year statute of limitations for non-capital murder, which was in place in 1975 when Martha Moxley was beaten to death in Greenwich. Skakel, now 46, is serving a 20-year-to-life sentence.

The justices rejected the case without comment, Scotusblog reported.
Skakel's lawyers have also filed for a new trial in state court. The Connecticut Supreme Court rejected their claim on the statute of limitations earlier this year.
