U.K. pedophile hides under girl's bed

MANCHESTER, England, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- A 22-year-old British man, who hid under his victim's bed for three months, was sentenced to 27 months in prison for rape and sexual assault of a 12-year-old.

Scott Jennings pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and one of sexual assault and was sentenced to two years and three months in prison by a judge in Manchester, England. He must also register as a sex offender and is not allowed to work with children.

Jennings reportedly met the 12-year-old girl on a bus last November. He convinced the girl to sneak him into her home and he hid beneath the bed whenever he heard the girl's mother coming, The Times of London said. The girl sneaked food from the family kitchen to feed the man.

He allegedly convinced the 12-year-old to run away in January. The girl left a note, which the mother said was the first she knew of the man. They were found shortly afterward at an apartment in Manchester, The Times said.
