ANNAPOLIS, Md., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Baltimore Democratic Mayor Martin O'Malley has defeated incumbent Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich, a Republican, CBS News and others projected Tuesday.

However, WBAL TV, Baltimore, said it could take days to determine the winner, with 200,000 state voters having requested absentee ballots.

The Ehrlich campaign said the key issues were the economy and taxes, transportation and restoring the Chesapeake Bay.

The O'Malley campaign said key issues were education, transportation and health care.
