John Mark Karr leaves suburban Atlanta

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- John Mark Karr, who made a false confession in the unsolved murder of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey, has reportedly left his father's suburban Atlanta home.

"I don't know nothing. I'm not hiding anything. ... He's not here," his 85-year-old father, Wexford Karr, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A north suburban Sandy Springs neighborhood group had expressed concern Karr -- brought back from Thailand as a suspect in the slaying of the 6-year-old beauty queen -- had moved into the area.

Karr and his father visited Hamilton, Ala., where they have relatives, this past week to see if the younger Karr would be more welcome there.

But when Karr was spotted at a local Wal-Mart, word got out about his arrival, the father said. The two returned to Atlanta.

"Then his attorney called and the next thing I knew, John Mark Karr was on the road into oblivion," his father said.

The neighborhood group expressed relief.
