MIQUAN, China, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- At least six miners were killed and eight others missing Saturday in a coal mine gas explosion in northern China, a mining official said.

The accident in Dianchanggou Township, Miquan City, in the sparsely populated Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region occurred about 2:35 a.m. local time, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
