WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. officials have arrested 125 people who allegedly owned subscriptions to a Web site featuring images of young children in sex acts with adults.
The government's Operation Emissary, which began in New Jersey and expanded into 21 other states, resulted in the Wednesday arrests, CNN reported Thursday.
"Today, we are taking steps against child pornography," U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie said in Newark, N.J., where 14 of the suspects appeared before a magistrate judge Wednesday.
Christie and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special-Agent-in-Charge Kyle Hutchins said in a statement that Operation Emissary focused on a Web site that offered pictures and videos of child pornography involving children as young as infants. The Web site warned users that subscribing to the site was illegal and urged discretion, the statement said.
Christie said he expects to make further arrests. He did not identify the operator of the Web site but issued a warning to anyone involved in child pornography.
"You are not anonymous," he said. "We can and we will find you."
