BELGRADE, Serbia, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A U.N. war crimes prosecutor says The Hague tribunal will not close its doors until Bosnian Serb war crime fugitives are arrested and handed over for trial.
Ending talks with Serbian leaders Tuesday, Carla Del Ponte, the chief U.N. prosecutor said she leaves Belgrade dissatisfied with how Serbian authorities plan to arrest Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic, sought on genocide and crimes against humanity charges in the former Yugoslavia from 1991-95, Belgrade's B92 radio reported.
Del Ponte said the U.N. tribunal will not close its doors until Mladic and Bosnian Serb political leader Radovan Karadzic are transferred to The Hague detention center.
Monday, Del Ponte spent five hours in talks with Serbia's war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic, criticizing the work of Belgrade's intelligence services in capturing Mladic, who she has claimed has been hiding in Belgrade and other places across Serbia.
