Killer crocodile eludes Malaysian hunters

KUCHING, Malaysia, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Malaysian hunters failed in their search for the man-eating crocodile known as "Bujang Bako" this week.

Since the elusive crocodile ate a young boy in Kampung Bako, Malaysia, earlier this month, one crocodile has been caught by the big game hunters and another has been found dead, but neither was the infamous Bujang Bako, said the Malaysian news agency Bernama.

Villagers gave the nickname to the croc after he devoured the boy, but the report did not say what it meant.

On Sunday hunters caught a nearly 11-foot crocodile, but after a dissection revealed no human remains in its stomach, the reptile was ruled not to be Bujang Bako.

Bernama said that earlier in the month, the corpse of a nearly 10-foot was found dead but again a dissection proved fruitless in the search for the boy's body.
